Sleep is an essential human function which is also very important in concussion recovery. It flushes out neurotoxins, regenerates cells, reduces the risk of anxiety and depression and much more. However, almost 50% of concussion patients experience some form of sleep deprivation. This is where blue light therapy comes in. Daily exposure to blue wavelength light each morning helps to retrain the circadian rhythm so that the patient may experience better, more regular sleep which then results in improvements in cognitive function, reduced daytime sleepiness, and actual brain repair.
